Deputy Minister Masualle, Eskom Foundation & SAFCOL to deliver school materials at Mpumalanga schools as part of Mandela Month commemorations

The Deputy Minister of Public Enterprises, Mr Phumulo Masualle, will on Thursday 25 July 2019 visit Dhuva Primary School in Tasbet Park and Mkhulu Combined School in Doornkop, in commemoration of 67 minutes of Mandela Month.

The Department in partnership with its State Owned Companies, Eskom and SAFCOL, will handover classrooms, a School Hall, toilets and school shoes, as well as paint and plant trees at the two schools based in the Emalahleni and Steve Tshwete Municipalities respectively.

Government has declared the month of July, Mandela Month, in honour of the founding father of the democratic dispensation in the country, former President Nelson Mandela.

The Deputy Minister and Eskom Foundation CEO, Cecil Ramonotsi will hand-over a new toilet block, a Grade R block; a Multipurpose Hall as well as plant 10 trees at Duvha Primary School in Tasbet Park in Witbank. Eskom has spent R6.9 million in building the new infrastructure at the school.

The delegation will then proceed to the Mkhulu Combined School in Steve Tshwete Municipality in Middelburg, where Mandela Month volunteers will spend their 67 minutes painting school walls; donate 400 packs of sanitary towels; clean up the school premises; donate office chairs as well as tables and filing cabinets for the Mkhulu Combined School’s Library.  SAFCOL will donate 100 pairs of school shoes to the learners as Mpumalanga is one of the provinces where the forestry company has operations.
